- The Old Inn Cottage next to the Church was the New Inn! The name was changed in the early part of the 20th Century, possibly because someone wanted to live in an olde worlde cottage.
- The former pub opposite, now Colin Oram’s house, was not the New Inn. The old photograph of the New Inn sign with Colin’s house behind was clearly taken to confuse. If the photograph had been taken from the other side of the road you would see the New Inn behind!
- Colin’s house was the White Swan! Before that it was a beer house/pub/shop operated by the Dumbletons and then the Busbys
- I believe that Henry Jorden's "beer house" in 1841 was on the site of Michael Phillips' house, next to the bakehouse.
